Our Firm

Mountain Pacific Group (MPG) is an independent, employee-owned boutique investment firm headquartered in Bellevue, Washington, USA. It was founded in 2009 by experienced investors in currency and emerging markets equity to provide next generation quantitative solutions.

MPG deploys a well-established investment process that focuses on forecasting risk, as opposed to forecasting return. The risk-based philosophy underpins all MPG's investment strategies. MPG principals have managed currency and equities for some of the largest pension funds, monetary authorities, foundations, and endowments globally.

We seek to exploit the mispricing of risk in order to add value, while many conventional approaches forecast equity and currency returns based on mis-valuation. We identify situations where there is heightened downside risk and reduce exposures when risk is excessive and vice versa. Adding value by exploiting mispricing of risk is highly complementary to conventional return forecasting styles.
